How to create a Google+ business page

With the introduction of Google+ Pages, the social media platform has given businesses a robust way to reach their target audience. When you consider that the Google+ network has over 40 million users, you’d understand that it has a wider reach that can help you to better communicate with those interested in the type of products and/or services you offer. Here are simple steps to create a Google+ page for your company:

Create Google+ Business Page

  • Visit the following URL to get started: Then follow the Google+ business page creation wizard.
  • Enter a valid email address.
  • Select one of the available options that best classifies your business. These are the options:  Local Business or Place, Product or Brand, Company, Institution or Organization, Arts, Entertainment or Sports, Other.
  • After choosing the proper classification, you’d have to enter your basic information, including your company name (or rather page name), your business site’s URL, the category of your niche, and the age group your page’s content is appropriate for (“Any Google+ user” or “18 years of age or older”, etc).
  • Proceed to agree to Google+ Pages’ terms of use and hit the “CREATE” button.
  • After the page has been created, you’d need to customize it by adding your company logo, etc.
  • Ignore the system prompt to start promoting the page immediately. It makes no sense to promote a blank page to people you’re targeting to do business with you. So, we recommend you first post some updates with links to valuable content on your business site.
  • Then, start promoting (i.e. letting others know about the page).

As you can see, creating a Google+ business page is pretty simple, and it’s similar to Facebook business page creation.
