Website optimization for search engines

To promote your website, you should optimize it first of all making it attractive to search engines and users. If you follow some rules of optimizing a website, it will help your project become popular and visited.


Defining site theme

It is important to understand why you need a website. Select the field you are well-versed in. Do not create a site of indefinite theme. Some resources can involve sections devoted to entirely different topics, and this leads to “smearing” of the overall theme of the site reducing the PR.

Site content

First of all, fill in the site with unique content (do not copy materials from other sites). In the course of site development you will have to do it regularly. Avoiding repetition of already existing materials, fill in the site with quality content. It is highly valued by search engines and users.

Site structure optimization

Meta tags

When optimizing your site for search engines, mainly use three meta tags: title, description, keywords.

Title is the most important one. This tag must include keywords (optional) and should seem appealing to the visitor, since this text is visible in search engines. Also check that the title of your page looks fine in the browser and in the bookmarks list.

Description is the second most important meta tag. Briefly describe what a page is about using keywords. And the more tempting the description will be, the more are possibilities that the user will go to your site.

There was time when search engines gave high importance to the tag “keywords”, but nowadays they are almost not considered. Anyway do not forget to add a few keywords and their combinations.
